This page is about fine art / illustration projects, either current ones or from the past. These projects were not commissioned, they are a form of expression, inspired by certain topics or driven by intense experiences in life. In that sense they are more personal, and I see them more as fine art projects myself.
Topics I am interested in, amongst others:
- The relationship with ourselves and either our physical being, our experience in life
- Emotions, feelings and things we don't talk about a lot. And psychological topics like trauma, disconnection, sensitivity, belonging.
- Our environment, the world around us, for example nature, animals and space
As for the visual expression, it won't be a surprise I often still use drawings on either paper or digital, sometimes paintings, but I'm less focused on the esthetics or result and more on the process itself.
Virtual Reality Art
One of the latest things I've been working on and trying out is making art with a virtual reality set and programs like Open Brush. It's a whole other experience to paint and sculpt 'in person' but in a virtual world and feels more like making an art installation. I'm eager to experience and make more of these!
To Be Here
During my course on coaching some years ago, one of the coaches mentioned that sometimes I come across dissociated. After reading a lot about it, I discovered there are different definitions of dissociation and disconnection. This project is about discovering and expressing my 'version' of this.
Among the stars
If you've experienced looking at a clear starry sky, you've probably noticed the vastness of the world beyond earth. It made me wonder how the world came to be and where it is going in the end.
Being interested in scientific topics next to art, I wondered at some point why the two in popular media aren't expressed in a more personal way instead of the superficial photography.
