Lately I've started sharing some illustrated stories again. Most of them are non-fiction and based on my life. In the past I also made some short comics/stories during and after my study. Some of them don't even have text.
I shared the recent ones via Ko-Fi, you can download them there!
Below are just example pages, so follow the link to read the whole thing.

About being Non-binary - a story about genderdiversity
Some years ago I discovered I identify as a demi-woman, which falls under the non-binary umbrella. This 20-page story explains about genderdiversity and genderexpression.

Strange Beings
A tiny 12-page story about life and how strange it is.
I made this when I was on a short vacation.

Japan Travelogue
In the Spring of 2025 I went to Japan again with my partner and kid and I wrote a 12-page travelogue about it.

No Fish
This is a short 'comic' I made for a small zine that I sold during a comic market, some years after graduation. It's when I started selling prints.
I wanted convey a feeling of being 'trapped' and/or being out of control, depending if you read it from the perspective of the cat or the fish.

Shadowplay
This was work made during my internship year. I wanted to do something with the concept of shadows and shadowwork, seen from something like a Jungian perspective.
I couldn't find the last two pictures anymore in bigger resoltion, so I had to crop them from another picture, sorry.

Go to the beach
It's a 'story' I created during my third year of art academy. It was a way to research styles and how I felt about making a sequence of images. It's digitally painted directly on very small sketches, which makes it a bit blurry.

Lieve Otto
Back in 2012, one of my brothers passed away. As a means to express my feelings during the year after this happened, I made a small collection of illustrations accompanying something I wrote to tell about it.
I realize that this is quite personal, but I want to share more 'true' things also, and it's been more than ten years, so why not. Maybe other people recognize these feelings too.

Monsters in my head
This was something as a start for another visual story. It's semi-biographical..because often I can experience different sides of myself telling me different things. Sometimes not so nice things. I guess you can say this is another take on the one about shadows at the top.

This is work from the second year at art academy. I didn't fully work this out but I wanted to do something with old Dutch stories.
I think I liked working with ink and graphite pencils a lot those days.
I hope you liked reading it! If you want regular updates, please consider following me on Ko-Fi, social media or subscribe to the newsletter!
